If you have the money then a complete turn key engine is nice. I haven't heard as much about the Blueprint LS engines (see a lot more of typical SBC stuff with them).
It's more work but I'd probably go to a junkyard and pull an LS. Around here you can get a 5.3 with a year warranty for $220. If you take your time you can get the wiring harness/exhaust manifolds/intake/starter and they usually don't charge you extra as long as its all bolted to the engine Thompson or Texas Speed is who I would go with if I had the money and I was shooting for big numbers but they don't usually include the front accessories.
