Memorial Day Parade 1986 CUCV
Took my 85 year old Mom as a passenger in the Doylestown, Pa. Memorial Day parade monday in the 1986 CUCV M1028a1. My late father was a veteran of the Korean war, he would have appreciated it. Thanks to Curtis DeHaven for a really nice picture.

Very nice. I don't think I have been there since about 1973.

Re: Memorial Day Parade 1986 CUCV
How did the m1028 differ from the m1008?
The m1008 already had 14bff/d60 axles, so you can't go any bigger than that. Were some other parts upgraded to make it a bigger truck?

Still a work in progress. Any questions or suggestions are welcome! Last edited by kipps; 06-04-2021 at 08:54 AM. |

Re: Memorial Day Parade 1986 CUCV
The only diff in the two is the 1028 comes with over load spring in the rear and a posi in the front, other than that they are the same trucks. I believe the 1008 is 8800 gvw and the 1028 is 9200 gvw.

Very nice and cool you took your mother with you. In my day the Army company trucks were blue Dodge d100, boy were they gutless. That didnt stop us from flooring it up and down the hills of NY though.

M1028 has extra leaves in back and an NP208 transfer case, 9400 gvw. This truck here is an M1028a1 and has an NP205 transfer case.
