Whats your engine specs and gas mileage?
With .030" over 350 with sportsman 2 heads 200cc intake ports, 10.2:1 compression, 36 degrees total timing, air gap rpm intake, 800 cfm edelbrock eps carburetor , HEI, .492" lift at 234 duration cam, 1 1/2 inch headers into dual 3" exhaust all in all maybe 420 HP and about 1200 miles on the whole package, and 285/75-16 tires with 3.54 gears( maybe 3.73 ) and a close ratio 4 speed manual all wrapped up in a 4300 lb 1968 heavy 3/4 ton truck I get an astounding...
9.3 mpg in the city 12 mpg on the highway How about you?

I have a bone stock Mr. Goodwench 350 with a Edelbrock performer intake and carb. It gets
10 mpg city 10 mpg highway 10 mpg uphill 10 mpg downhill

My engine is a 350 bone stock except bored .030....in a 72 K-10 averages 12mpg

Mine is a 350 with mild build. I don't know what all was done to it since it was like this when I got it. It definatly has a cam and headers but that's all I know for sure. I get about 6-8 mpg but I think it is the 35" tires that kill most of my MPG.

Start with one weak old 1970-original 122,000 mile old 350...add in a mild cam, ghetto dual exhaust, HEI, and an extremely-overkill K&N...get the power down with a TH400 and 3.73 rearend...
Results: Mid-to-low sixteens in the quarter, just short of 10mpg anywhere. I've already got a 700R4 lined up...just need to put it in...

Stock 350 except for an Edelbrock 600 CFM carb and ram's horn manifolds - 12ish.
Actually, since yesterday, I'm getting very good mileage - in fact, I'm not burning any gas at all! Amazing what not having a tranny will do for ya.. :p

Stock 307 with Q-Jet, 3:07 rear end, 71 long box. 16-16.5 highway under 70 mph, (over 70, mileage deteriorates badly).
Loaded it drops to 15-15.5 if you keep it under 70. Around town it gets 14 or a little over. Jim |

I'm with Tom Hand, I get 9-10mpg no matter what kind of driving I'm doing even with the damn top off and the tail gate down.

build is in the signature. it's got stock heads that are 98cc and i still think it's compression is pretty low. I get 10mpg, whether i baby it anywhere or whehter i drive it 90-140 on the fwy. it doesnt care. big blocks are like that i'm told...

You check your mileage? I just fill the thing up when it gets low, and pay the humongous gas bill every month
But, like tom hand... I think I get 10 empty, loaded, up hill, sitting in garage, whatever. Oh... and this is a 250 with a 1 bbl. Kenneth

107,000 on an origional 350, and I have gotten between 12 and 19. Stock rear end and 3 on the tree.

My 1970 C30 402 auto longhorn gets 15(at 60-65 mph) on the highway, and 12 around town, 4.10 rear, t400, the longhorn is all stock, except an HEI and headers/glasspacks. and my 68 2 wd drive burb gets 18 highway(65 mph), 16 in town. It is almost stock, but a newer 350 with unknown, but high compression heads, performer intake, Qjet, HEI with an sm465, and 3.07 rear, 31 inch tires. It has ?10.5:1? CR. It is stifled by a puny single exhaust system, and if I go much over 65, the fuel mileage goes down exponentially.

350, bored .060 over, cast flattop pistons, stock heads w/76cc chambers, Edelbrock Performer intake, Headers, 2.5" dual exhaust with Flowmasters, 204/214 duration cam with .443/.444 lift, HEI, Edelbrock 1406 carb. It has a TH350 and 3.07 gears for the rest of the drivetrain. I get 10mpg around town, and 12mpg on the highway. When it had a proplery working Qjet on it, i got 13.1 mpg around town, and im not sure on the highway, proably close to 16. But when my Qjet stoped working properly, i couldn't afford a new Qjet, so i bought the 1406. The truck runs alot better, has a little more power, but the gas mileage droped. I'm hoping to get a 700R4 in it this summer, and i might add some 3.73's if i can find a decently priced rearend with those gears....

18mpg on a suburban and 15 mpg on a one ton big block with 4.10 gears? You must have one of those magnetic thingies that clamps to your fuel line and points the fuel molecules towards Mecca or one of those air cleaners that induces a manmade tornado in your carburetor. I was happy to get 18mpg on the highway with my 6 cylinder 3 speed 69 C10.

The 69 gets about 8 mpg if i baby it, 4 mpg if i run it hard, which is most of the time. the blazer gets 14 on the highway and about 11 around town. I drove the 69 down the shore ( about 50 miles) each way, and had to stop for gas on the way home, but the 50 mile trip only took me about 35 min.

'70 350, over 30. 462 heads, fully ported. 292 cam. 1.6 rollers. Flat tops. '70 LT-1 intake... ported to match. 1 5/8 Alumicote headers... ported to match. 650 Holley (started life that way anyhow) M-21. 390 gear. Work and back I can get 16 MPG. (country roads, tach 2000, cruise at 45 mph.) Highway, about 12. Driving with foot in it, 10 or so.

350, 30 over 9 to 1 flat tops, 194 stock heads, RV cam by Speedpro, line bored, decked, 600 cfm Edelbrock with performer intake bolted up to a 700R4 turning a posi 3:73 rearend with 255/70R15 sneakers and traveling light at 55 mph it gives me 19-20 mpg. When it had the Turbo 350 it was giving me 14-15 mpg at best.
