61 C10 cab on a 63 frame

Hi
I am restoring a 1963 C10 truck. The cab was very rusty, and I found a fire truck 60-62 that is almost perfect.
I have the 60-62 cab sitting above the 63 frame, and it looks like the holes on the 60-62 cab are farther apart than the 63 frame. I have read on here that I could drill my holes closer together on the floor of the 63.....or???
If I had a set of frame mounts off a 60-62 frame, could I just use them? Would they bolt to the 63 frame with the same holes? I know where a 60-62 frame is sitting and the mount looks like it might work, but just wondering if anyone has experience with this?
Thanks

Re: 61 C10 cab on a 63 frame

Not sure, but I've had a couple people tell me to just drill the holes in the 60-62 cab in the same place the holes in the 63 cab would be (around 6.5" closer on each side.
I'm going to cut the floor out of the 63 cab with about 3 dog house bolts for a pattern, and then I can lay the cut out piece in the 60-62 cab and have my template to drill the two holes in the correct place for the cab mount.
I guess I'll let you guys know if it works.

I was waiting for others to chime in.

I do know the aftermarket cab supports are drilled for both styles.

In theory, you can just drill the floor to match the mounts you have.

In my opinion, you should have a sleeve where the bolt goes through the support, which is difficult to do, and I'm not convinced anyone actually does that, so it may not matter. I put sleeves in mine.

Thanks for your reply.
I called Brothers and they said they don't have them. I couldn't find them on LMC
I have a friend that has a 61 c10 he will be scrapping out, and they look like the correct ones, but the rubber mounts are smaller, and it looks like I would need a longer bolt.
Where do you buy the aftermarket ones?
Thank You

Re: 61 C10 cab on a 63 frame

I'm speaking of the aftermarket cab supports; the boxes that are part of the cab floor. NOT the frame mounts, or the rubber pads.

Cab mounts (rubber) are different 60-62, and mine were 1" thick and 5/8" thick - I had (originally) 5/8" on top up front, and 1" on top out back. Nobody sells 60-62 mounts, so I bought poly 63-66 (I will likely regret the poly) and machined the front down to 5/8" (which I will also likely regret). The 60-62 uses a longer front bolt.
