Re: Frame vin decoder

My truck has a partial vin on the frame that matches the cab. I can't remember what number comes first, but I can check again tomorrow

Re: Frame vin decoder

Plant designation for Chevrolet on our trucks, GMC may be different.
Wait - a 72 Burb I see had a last numbers of 2Fxxxxxx, maybe it's a 76 built in Atlanta?

Re: Frame vin decoder

It's a latter model unit with that trans cross member and a-frame bushings. My guess is a 76 built in Atlanta, the last six number are the sequence numbers.

No, not with that VIN stamp.
Does a 66 bumber fit on the front frame rails? And were they welded on there?

Re: Frame vin decoder

My guess is you have a 66 frame that was made in Atlanta. The numbers after the A would have matched with the serial numbers on the cab vin.

My truck is a 63 built in Atlanta, so the frame vin is 3A124779. Those last 6 numbers match to the last 6 numbers of my VIN, so I know my original cab is sitting on the original frame
