Re: Nos 1972 woodgrain door inserts

I can understand how someone could be looking for these panels now even though they bought some in '93, 28 years ago. I've bought and used a lot of parts in that time, and many repeatedly because I've done quite a few trucks in that time. But it is confusing that I (we) had the impression you were needing a pair, not just gathering info.

So, how much would YOU want for yours? Since we are simply sharing information

Now I get it, thanks. Yes, $750 sounds pretty steep, but probably in the ballpark nowadays.

Re: Nos 1972 woodgrain door inserts

Golden State Pickup Parts sold them in the '90s. Not sure if they produced those or were N.O.S. I had talked to the owner once about that but do not remember the answer

I have a set from them that has to be 30 years old. I still have them tucked away. I never knew if they were nos or a repo. They appear to be nos though

Re: Nos 1972 woodgrain door inserts

Never seen where you could order them as a pair. Nor a part number to do so. Also they should have a parts sticker or a gm wrapper which was paper with gm logos

Any proof of your above quoted info, the part in bold? with atog on this, we have purchased/sold and or seen a number of these GM NOS 72 door panel/applique wg trim panels over the years and they have all been listed/offered separately as LH/RH pn's when GM packaged. As an aside between our impala and truck line interests, we probably have a few grand invested in old original GM parts books and p/n succession manuals and have only found four different pn's for these wg panel inserts and they are all clearly listed LH/RH specific parts. Re: Nos 1972 woodgrain door inserts

Who made my aluminum wood grain door inserts if I got them in 1993 and they did not make aluminum repops tell 2012 or did someone just put both in one box when they bought them. I don't know that is what I am asking.

Re: Nos 1972 woodgrain door inserts

I think yours are gm panels. Post pictures of backside of panels also close up of where the bead of silver trim separates. A picture from the side looking lengthwise on Woodgrain side also. Then should be able to tell if they are original gm

Re: Nos 1972 woodgrain door inserts

Just my 2 cents worth. I feel your panels are original gm panels. Attached are photos of three known Nos ones. If you notice beside pennies in photos are destinguishing marks that I personally use when determining if panels are gm or repops. Also note gm part labels and packaging.
