What kind of paint to use for Pantina
Before the peanut gallery starts….I like the look and am a fan of Rat Rod type builds…..
Ive read threads and searched posts but didn’t find much of an answer the covers what kind of paint to use to either roll on or use a spray gun as a top coat over my rust? I saw the thread about the different rattle cans but dont want to rattle can it. So i think that limits me. Type of finish? Gloss or semi would be too shined i think. Anyone have any experience on the finish? I was thinking more along the flats or matte. But what would be a good brand that sales in quarts or gallons? Home Depot if very limited on color as i want to stay in the grays. Where did you get your paint? If you click my link you can see the truck im going to put a top coat over as it is. I dont see a link..
I'm sure if you've done much research, you've seen more methods than you can read about in a year Eastwood sells small paint quanity's, but any paint store can mix whatever you want in small quantities, in any color you want..you can add flattner to any of it, but flattner isnt cheap, but it doesn't take much

Re: What kind of paint to use for Pantina
First, im sorry i meant my profile link. Picture of my truck is there.
I have done my fare share of reading on this topic and have not seen anything about the type of paint used or the type of finished used. That was my main question. I know how i am going to apply it…both rolled and sprayed from a spray gun…i do not want to rattle can the whole truck. Ive looked at the rust oleum brands but grays are only in sparky cans or a gloss. Any other suggestions on paint or finish? Thank you |

About any paint you buy will be gloss, using a flattner will take out the gloss
Hotrodflatz by tpc makes a pre flattened paint..might check those out https://tcpglobal.com/pages/hot-rod-flatz-paint Being in cali , you may be really limited on what you can get your hands on

Re: What kind of paint to use for Pantina
Depending on what kind of paint you want, butnif were talking gallons of paint.
A quick trip to Vegas can save alot of money. I got 4 gallons of primer, and paint. Saving 1/2 the cost or roughly $900 US. |
