1986 GMC Color?

Was this two-tone color option offered on the 1986 GMC?

I think the silver metallic and red was, but not sure about black and red. That truck has been repainted as the paint lines are styled like the ‘89-‘91 suburbans, but not quite correct. . In 86 the front fender had different lines.

Same here. Not sure if that combo was offered, and if you are wondering if that is a factory paint job it is definitely not.

Looks like the deluxe two-tone except the red should be below the side molding.

Re: 1986 GMC Color?

I like the paint job using the body line better. It always bugged me that GM didn't.

Re: 1986 GMC Color?

I disagree, I am certain that is an original paint scheme. Lots of them in Canada in particular, under the "Wrangler" model.

EDIT: maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. But I swear I saw one around town when I was a kid.

Nope. Not an original paint scheme for '86.

I think the Wrangler accent color was just in the top third of the main body. So it may have started at the body crease and gone up to fill up that panel. And then it was outlined in another color pinstripe.
