What works on packrats is the Have-A-Heart trap and a half bar of blueberry fruit & grain cereal bar. Grease the action of the trap with cooking grease [not machine oil]. Packrats will kill themselves to get a piece. Just don't have a heart. They are territorial, and will return to their ''home'' and your tasty wiring if you are weak.

My wife's on board with that "Rid-A-Rat" light. It's real rats, here, but since the neighbors cleaned out their back yard, we haven't seen much "evidence" of rats.
