https://youtu.be/Mo5flQNZLqA Thanks for checking in. I still see my pictures on the last page, but another thread all the pictures are blue squares, because Flickr banned me (can't post screenshots). So my activity is going to be limited on this forum until I re-establish on another photo hosting site.

I bought my HiPo L6 parts 43 years ago. A 390 CFM carb was $87, an aluminum 4V intake was $60, and long tube headers were just over $100. I can't believe what L6 parts go for now. But putting a 4V carb on a V8 is a piece of cake. Aftermarket alloy intakes are all over the place and at prices Inliners only ever dream of. Look at Weiand, Edelbrock, Offenhauser. Look at SBC intakes on Jegs and Summit. Read the reviews.

My neighbor who restored a '69 Pontiac GTO, and has worked on many cars, swears by Quick Fuel carbs. Getting a 600CFM.

Too bad about your pix, Bro. You have a Pro's ''Eye.'' If you save them to your harddrive, then rummage thru Pictures when adding Attachments, they are solidly there always. Never trusted 3rd party sites or clouds.

Got the carb installed. Nowhere on the part, box, or instructions does it say where it's manufactured, so that could only mean MIC. The Heim link that Ace Hardware sells is made, guess where? I redid the link, made it straight and inserted on the other side of the pedal lever, after taking the pictures.

Re: I'm legit again, my "new" '68 LB
Cool, figured out that I need to downsize my pictures to 640 pixels wide. Won't be good for landscape glamor shots, but for this..... (I think)
I see an impending problem, the power steering line has been rubbing, surprised it hasn't leaked yet. I have to assume the pump bracket is not correct, can it be modified so the pulleys line up? This is a project that I need to address, and I can't do all this.

Did you always have power steering?

Re: I'm legit again, my "new" '68 LB
The glovebox SPID (that the correct term for the build list?) does not show power steering. Have a blurry picture, need to take a better one and post.
I started a new thread: http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=828494

Re: I'm legit again, my "new" '68 LB
SPID is the special parts identification on the glove box inside. The build sheet, is sometimes built under the wire springs in the underside of the seat, or behind the gas tank. I found one inside the passenger's door. It was a jigsaw puzzle of hundreds of pieces, but I could pick out a few things. I have since lost it. There's a lot more info on a build sheet.

Re: I'm legit again, my "new" '68 LB
Just checking in for the heck of it.
I got the imitation Holly carb working, had the mechanic I trust fine tune it, needed new jets, the plastic cam thing changed, worked his magic. I have been trucking along with no problems, other than a pack rat. The varmit chewed through one of the plug wires, so I decided to get a new set from Jegs, with straight plug boots. I never liked the 90º plug boots on the set I got recently, the wires were too close to the exhaust manifold, found they were touching one day. Now it starts right up! Put a Rid-A-Rat light under the hood too. Took a trip to Holbrook to get some big chunks of petrified wood. What I really wanted was to replace the '69 license plate because the sun was trashing it. Stopped at a Route 66 icon and put theirs on.

Re: I'm legit again, my "new" '68 LB
Hi Kurt. My '69--'72 lemon yellow AZ plate is fading, too. Mostly the black lettering. I'm thinking of masking off the letters and reshooting with satin black spraypaint.
I know there are companies that will restore your vintage plates, reflective coatings and all, but they are spendy, and they have to do the whole plate. My yellow plate still has a 1971 validation sticker in the upper right corner. Since it's on a '71 GMC Jimmy, that's key as the Year Of Manufacture.

Re: I'm legit again, my "new" '68 LB
What works on packrats is the Have-A-Heart trap and a half bar of blueberry fruit & grain cereal bar. Grease the action of the trap with cooking grease [not machine oil]. Packrats will kill themselves to get a piece. Just don't have a heart. They are territorial, and will return to their ''home'' and your tasty wiring if you are weak.
