Rhody Cruisers SHOW pics

Rhody Crusiers show in Old Town Florence Oregon this weekend. Only 3 ADs
were seen (one of which was mine). The others were a 53 (?) Gmc on a S10 frame and a blown 54. The s10 was neat and had the radiator in the rear. The 54 was immaculate and guestimated at over 2-300K in costs!!!.

Re: Rhody Cruisers SHOW pics

I'm not sure what was spent on the blue one but just know that it was a lot more money than I have to spend on a truck.

On any build like that after a certain point one is spending money to spend money or paying certain shops for not only the qualty of work but the bragging rights for having them do the work. Plus detail items that win the big shows.

Your truck looks great and I'd bet it got more than it's fair share of attention. partially because it is a pretty nifty 4x4 AD and a bit because it isn't so flashy it scares some folks off. Probably a lot of young guys studying it to see how you pulled off the 4x4 swap too.

48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six.
71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: Rhody Cruisers SHOW pics

Thanks. Fair share of folks looking under it. Many tried to tell me it was a Napco conversion which its not. Just a 54 body on an 84 GMC Silverado classic step side. Being new to shows i was amazed to see how much $$$ folks have into cars they really can't use as daily drivers. Also the lot had many projects for sale that folks can't afford to finish. At 73 i was surprised i was one of the younger ones. Very very Few in 30s-40s. Was invited by both the DAV and VFW for their future events.

BTW The Blue 54 owner said he had well over $145k just in parts receipts. Thought i had a pic of the Chevy cameo pick up but don't. Owner had for sale 55K on it. The lowered gmc had a faux bed made from barn wood. On Friday is was over 95F in Florence which was a real hardship for this little coast town
