I need shocks

Looking for some guidance here guys, I am trying to put back my fathers 68 C-10 2wd and it has fought us every step of the way. Im now needing shocks for the front and rear. I thought I had these things situated, but I go to place the order and the guy tells me that the fronts are on a 2 month back order list...

The front of the truck has 2in drop spindles and the rear has 5in drop springs. I need to know what to order. I was originally going to order the DS-2 shocks... but I cant wait for 2 months. As bad as this sounds. My father just got diagnosed with ALS so Id like to get this thing back on the road before his condition gets any worse so that he can enjoy at least some of what we have done to his baby.

Re: I need shocks

Drop spindles allow you to use a stock length shock. The rear should be using a aftermarket bracket to take away the sever angle caused by a more than 4 inch drop coil.

Re: I need shocks

Another quandary is going the opposite direction. Installing new springs. I found on the heavy half tons the recommended shocks were not long enough. The fix ended up being a conversation with Rancho and giving them the extended and compressed lengths of the suspension. The fix was just right and it was an off the shelf part number.
