changing rear gears ?
Can it be done on a 78 blazer or does the tank have to come out ?

The tank? seriously? Jack up the vehicle and put stands under the frame and let the axle assy hang. Plenty of room, unless this is slammed on the ground.

tank is close but didn,t want to remove the gears and find out I have to remove the tank so I will remove it
