Hood to Fender Alignment Questions
Received this truck to work on last week, missing the hood striker. Tracked one down (hook style), and installed tonight. Got the hood to latch, but the passenger side fits rather poorly on the hood to fender, and the driver side is much better but some off. I have the hood pedestals at each side adjusted, but the passenger side just wants to sit proud, but its wound all the way down so it isnt the pedestal / stop piece. Ideas?

Re: Hood to Fender Alignment Questions
Looks like the hood needs adjusted at the hinge. When I took my cowl induction hood off and installed a NOS hood, mine was sitting up high like that. Loosen up the bolts on the hinge, and push the hood down and back if needed. It made mine look so much better.

Re: Hood to Fender Alignment Questions
I would do that, but this hood style is the one where it bolts to the bottom of the hood, rather than the side like that. Maybe I should lower the hinge itself? The problem is the rear of the hood fits fine, but tapers to a large gap at the front.

Re: Hood to Fender Alignment Questions
So your hood is a 73-80. I didn’t know that. Mines an 81-87 hood.

Re: Hood to Fender Alignment Questions
If your front to back sitting pretty close, I thinking your hood is bent lightly. I would open and check the under side hood on both side to see if cracked had a fold crease around the high spots if it has not got and crease in it yet. you can use a 2x4x4' and some towels to message the top down a little be gentle small blows lots light and check a lot so you do not go to far. **If it is creased your going to need a new hood. (or can try the hood brace for the 73-80 hoods). You may need piece 2x4 under the hood if it not moving at all in the few blows.
