I noticed that date when I was looking at my calendar this morning. I actually have Jury Duty on May 9th. My plan then is to come out and see you on Friday May 16th. I will be going back to Thunder Valley on Sunday May 18th.
The TMCCC schedule this year has us traveling a lot. But that's racing.

Re: 2000 S10 Xtreme Drag Truck

Ok, I made it to HMP in Houston. Thats about all I can say. First pass the wheels came up and hooked towards the wall. I had to get out of it. Found out that someone before me dripped enough oil on the right side of track which caused my truck to spin. Second pass I lined up on the left side of the right lane. Truck left good and made a decent pass. reaction was bad but all I wanted to do was get a good pass. Third pass I launched and got beat.
I am really struggling with my reaction times. I was doing pretty good with my old motor, but this new motor has got my head all jacked up. Plus, I was having trouble getting to the finish line or just taking off. If I can get the truck to make good passes, then I can start concentrating on cutting better lights.
Now we have Thunder Valley OKC on May 18th. Hoping to have a good race day. We will see.

Sounds like you need to get some more passes in before the next event. Get things lined out a little better so you can have a good showing.

Re: 2000 S10 Xtreme Drag Truck

Race day was not too bad. Made tree passes in the S10. Pass 1 ran 6.248 with a -.0022 redlight. On Pass 2 I changed my delay and I guess I went the wrong way. I ran a 6.249 with a -.0224 redlight. Oops, my bad. Changed my delay back to what I originally had. Pass three they paired me up with my good friend who is number 2 in points. I flubbed and he won. The points leader lost and now my friend is 5 points from taking 1st and we have two races left.

Next race is at Little River outside of Temple, Tx. It will be my first time to race the S10 at this track. It's been running really well, and it looks like my dial in will be 6.24 most of the time.

Heading to Little River today for an event. Hope the driver is on. If so, it could be an interesting race day.

Re: 2000 S10 Xtreme Drag Truck

Congratulations! As an ex-electrician I have a good appreciation of quality screwdrivers. Nice score!

Re: 2000 S10 Xtreme Drag Truck

One of the upgrades I am doing on the S10 is making a gauge and ignition panel. This will be removable so I can have easy access to the back side of the gauges. And I can see all of the gauges through the steering wheel.

Re: 2000 S10 Xtreme Drag Truck

That panel looks good. Having it removable will definitely pay dividends down the road.

My buddy turned all the guages in his 9.90 Vega so the needles all point vertical when the engine is running normally. That way any needle that isn't vertical draws his attention. It looks goofy when the engine isn't running but he prefers it.

Re: 2000 S10 Xtreme Drag Truck

Got the new homemade gauge panel, MSD panel and Switch panels all wired up and installed. I also made a bracket for a LED interior light. Checked everything and it all works. Will start it up Sunday and check for any leaks at the gauges. Then I will need to do the fluid changes and other maintenance items so I can be ready for the 2026 season.
