thanks for the offer, But its so far out of your way and the cab isnt stripped so its HEAVY i was gonna use my neighbors cherry picker. I'm still waitin on the title for my orange truck so I'm gonna be removing two cabs ( not at the same time) the tool would be most helpful.

Another option is to jack under the floor using plywood, blocking it up and pushing the chassis out from under.

zooza,
Is this the one you're looking for? There's another post a few days later with a wooden setup shown, but didn't run across it yet. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=113397 SSOW... ![]()

Take all the cab bolts out, drive it down the road at about 70mph and slam on the brakes. This should remove the cab without any costly tooling.

Found the other one
GMC69 shows a wooden one that looks pretty simple in the last set of pics on this thread:

doors?
Doesn't leaving doors on and threading beam through windows put a lot of torque on doors and hinges?

how i took a cab i was selling (thank god) was a cherry picker and a nylon strap (new owners idea) it dented the doors and the drip rails where the strap was when we picked it up. it was an 81 cab but i am sure the results would be the same. moral of the story...DONT DO IT THAT WAY
