You Betchum Red Ryder, that is exactly the plan. My old chopped cab sitting on a frame around 108 inch wheelbase using primarily what left over pieces I have from the build I am doing now on it plus a lot of other left over pieces I have laying around. I don't lack a lot of pieces to carry it off.

The biggest expense is if I rebuild the 350 sitting in the garage because it needs to be bored. That may be just flat too much money to spend on this project though. That may go to someone wanting a 4 bolt main core to build and a runner used.

My ongoing truck projects:
48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six.
71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
