Re: 1970 GMC K2500 D44-5F Front Axle Parts

I'm not sure what the differences with disc brake or drum applications for the axles, but a 1969/1972 Dana 44 were all basically the same. In late 72, dana upgraded the to a larger universal joint where the two axles join, thus requiring an axle swap and different seals on the backside of the wheel hub. that application continued until the Dana 44 was replaced with GM cooperate front ends i.e., 10 bolts, 12 bolts as usually referenced. BTW, GM cooperate could be swap into the truck too. But first I would scour the regional junk yards for parts. Again, do some research, a lot of different options.
