72 K5 sending unit

I have the 30 gallon I believe aftermarket tank, does anyone know if it takes the stock sending unit or where I could find the one needed? I'd like to have it in hand before we drop the tank. Thanks!

The stock tank is roughly 13" tall. If your tank is about the same, it should work.

Thanks, I guess I should have dug up an image before I posted. I've only seen one other before, and that was just a picture. Supposedly it's an aftermarket shaped like a fuel cell.

Yeah, that would be a very different thing. A stock sending unit wouldn't fit that. You'll probably have to try to figure out who the manufacturer is.

I have a very thick wall 37 gallon aftermarket fuel tank installed by me in 1996. It has a very small gauge unit, and its bolted to the top of the tank.

My tank is very similar in design and construction to the Hickey pictured, but was bought new by me in 1996 through JC Whitless.

Re: 72 K5 sending unit

Doing a Google search on that image brings it up as an RCI fuel cell. Searching for an RCI fuel cell sending unit brings up dozens of vendors. Here's an example:
