Most problems, whether parts bought locally or on the 'net, are caused by improper installation. Think about it a minute.. Repair facilities, for the most part, buy their parts locally. They don't want a customer's car sitting around waiting for parts to arrive. Also, they usually stick to a certain brand due to the quality of the product.

I installed a power steering system on my '71 about 4 years ago.. Pump and gearbox are Cardone remanufactured units.. I bought the parts locally from my favorite automotive parts store.. I haven't had any problems whatsoever with any of it..
