Re: Forest Service Trucks
I've got one, not a GM though or very attractive. 1961 international travelette. Originally a Ellsworth AFB truck, then forestry service, then fire department then my neighbors wheel barrow for 20 years.

Re: Forest Service Trucks
That's quite a resume the Travelette worked up- what are your plans for it?

Re: Forest Service Trucks
It's actually my wife's truck, she fell in love with the ugly thing. I bought it cause I had a trade lined up for a 56 big back window Chevy. I keep changing plans. I told her if we keep it I wanted it GM, ford or Dodge powered and suspension so parts would be cheap and easier to find. I originally bought an 03 crown Vic front end and mustang 8.8 for it, then I bought an 06 Chevy crew cab frame to swap it onto. Now I'm thinking about square body axles and springs and make it 4x4. I don't really like them lowered or stock height. But I might change my mind tomorrow...

Re: Forest Service Trucks
Funny now I have the Lil Blazer in Forest Service livery the wife reminded me of this one she saw back in 2020. So there are or were 2 of them running around town.

Re: Forest Service Trucks
IH Trucks were a bear for parts. That's the only reason I stayed away. You needed the build sheet to by parts by. They used different jobbers in different regions. But those trucks were build better than any of the rest. Over-built in comparison

Re: Forest Service Trucks
I have a friend that has several IHCs. Here are three of them. I have another friend that has a lot more than anyone around. He's building a '42 right now. We call him the Scout guy.
