If anyone plans both a V8 swap and a lower stance do the swap before you lower the front. 4cyl -> LS swap in my '95 gave 1.5 - 2" drop in front and it rides just fine.
As far as I know they are factory springs, but it always sat a little high in front with the 4 cylinder. And a little low in the back with 28 year old springs. With any kind of power increase planned, figure out slapper bars or caltracks in the rear before you lower the back. Even with stock width rubber and open diff, you will need to do something to stop spring wrap / wheel hop and lowering blocks will make it that much worse. I knew it would wheel hop even with the 4, but I thought I could just ease the v8 off the line and worry about spring wrap later. Nope.....built slapper bars the weekend after it was first on the road with the v8 |
