May 2024 ToTM

For our May 2024 Truck of the Month (ToTM) contest the theme is

May-be…..

This month’s contest theme is based on those trucks that are rough, rude, crude, and vehicles that are far from show or nice. Here’s the criteria for this month’s contest.
  • Open to all years and models of Trucks, Blazers, Suburbans, Tahoes, Yukons, and Jimmys.
  • The vehicle nominated needs to belong to a board member during the time of the contest.
  • It must be road worthy and currently legal (until the cops catch you) to be on the road.
  • It must have an unmatching paint scheme (no all primers)
  • It must have at least three other distinctly viewable issues. This includes things like:
    + Missing panels
+ Dents and Holes (large and small)
+ Dominate rust formations (not patina)
+ Anything that might make someone afraid to go near it for fear of catching some sort of disease
  • If a truck was selected as a 2023 or 2024 ToTM winner then you are ineligible. If the truck was nominated but not selected as a ToTM winner then it may be nominated and compete in this month's category.
To Nominate:

You or someone else may nominate the vehicle. The nominee must be a board member and the current owner of the truck. Once you decide on who you wish to nominate, just add your nomination to this thread. We will need two pictures minimum, at least one full view of the vehicle and one showing the engine. In addition, we will need the owner’s board name and the Make/Model/Year of vehicle.

Nominations will run through April 23. The first 15 nominees that meet the criteria will participate in the contest We will need two pictures minimum (at least one full view of the vehicle) with/for the nomination as well as the owner’s board name, the Make/Model/Year of vehicle. I will PM the nominees to get any additional data or pictures if they have not already been provided. If the owner has a preferred picture they want used in the contest, please let me know in a PM. You can PM me for an e-mail address in case anyone has problems resizing the pictures for the board. A Poll Thread will be set up April 24 in this board area and an announcement will be posted on the Discussion Boards to notify all that voting has begun. The Poll will run thru the morning of May 1 and the official announcement of the winner will be on the evening of May 1. The announcement of the ToTM winner will be posted through the General Discussion Board area.

Rusty (the Redneck Rejekt)

1960 Chevrolet C10 Apache - Long Time running Project

Color - Primer / Rust / Dove Grey / Implement Gray /Moss Green

Looks bad, smells funny, leaks worse - about all you could ask for in a truck!

Missing rear bumper, lots of holes for long gone equipment (some partially filled, many not) potentially bullet holes

Definitive road force ventilation system ( rust ; floors, roof, anywhere it can)

Straight pipes with a side dump exhaust and street sweepers - you can hear us before you see us but the oil leaks will have you remembering us long after we are gone

He ain't pretty, but we get where we need to go!

southern CA had some major rains, it wasn't there for very long, it was just interesting to see if develop in the lowest point ... plus it let me park in the "green vehicle" parking spots

Re: May 2024 ToTM

Not sure if mine meets all the criteria, but never seems to fit any of the other ones either, so here goes anyway! 71 Custom Deluxe, 5.3/4l60e

I think you're right. I think I've got the best work truck and I'd like to throw it in the ring.

1972 K30 Longhorn 4x4 swapped, Cummins swapped, Cheyenne Super, Custom Camper with rear air ride and 4 link. The truck is definitely showing it's age but is used for heavy work all the time.
