Re: rear gear suggestions
thanks. what would you say for a 84 k10, sbc, sm465, np205 with 33" tires? This is my hunting rig but sees the road alot going to and from the club. currently has a 2.56. I currently have to start out in low gear. backing up it's best to put tc in low. only trailer I pull is a 4x8 4 wheeler trailer and that is very seldom. Thanks again

Re: rear gear suggestions
Agreed 4.10’s with a SBC and stockish tires is ideal for towing. Also expect to cruise 55-60 tops.

Re: rear gear suggestions
My favorite towing set up I’ve had was a t400 w/ gear vendors and 3:73 gears. But I never tow anything seriously heavy. Maybe max I tow is 3500 lbs. but this set up gives multiple gearing choices on the fly and when you’re not towing, great gas mileage!

Re: rear gear suggestions
For the son's C30, 3.73 or 4.10, depending on tire size and trailer weight.
For the K10, 3.42s. My C10 has 3.42s and 30" tires and it makes for a general purpose rig. |
