Re: production numbers for 69 Blazers

Thanks for sharing that. Why does it seem like 73 and 74 MY Blazers are so few and far between compared with 72's? Seems like I see way more 72's for sale.

The 73 to 75 were prone to more rust than the 69-72's. The last year of the full tops leaked and the new quarter panels near wheel wells rusted more, design flaw in my opinion. That's what I have noticed here in Cali. I have had some opportunities to buy the 73,74 and 75 but past on them because of the rust problems. When I find one that is not rusty I'm going to buy it. I had a 73 shortwide 4x4 and it was one of the best trucks ever.

Wink Re: production numbers for 69 Blazers

The '73-'75 Blazers rusted worse than just about any vehicle I've experienced. Therefore they were crushed decades ago.

Re: production numbers for 69 Blazers

Does anyone have an idea of Jimmy production for 69-72? I've only ever seen Blazer's. Kind of wondering what total production for the 1st gens was.

Re: production numbers for 69 Blazers

Maybe production ratios might be different for the Blazer/Jimmy. there are no production numbers for GMC's. The accepted ratio for other GMC's is about 10% of comparable Chev's

1969-72 Blazers

69 ~ 4935 (4wd)
69 ~ ZERO (2wd)

70 ~ 11527 (4wd)
70 ~ 985 (2wd)

71 ~ 17220 (4wd)
71 ~ 1277 (2wd)

72 ~ 44266 (4wd)
72 ~ 3357 (2wd)

1970-72 Jimmy’s

All the Records lost in a Canadian
warehouse fire, and it is thought
to be around "1/3" of Blazer #'s.

There were NO 1969 models built.
Best information I have ever been
able to find on the GMC Jimmy's...

Even thought they are more "rare"
than their brother, the Jimmy's do
not seem to bring big $ at auction.

There's a reason for that, looks. The front grille on a Blazer suits the truck better. The quad headlights on Jimmys make it look like the uglier sibling, IMO.
I guess it's like having kids. If you own one, it's the best looking to you, but for those that don't they will usually pick the Blazer.

Possibly, my 1971 Factory 2wd had the 68 C/10 Nose Job...

I sold before the market went nuts and have regretted it...

Does that include the GMC Jimmys? They waited until the 1970 MY for the Jimmy to come out.
