Very original 1970 K10 Short Bed

Pretty rare 1970 K10 Short bed fleetside with all of it’s original sheetmetal and paint finally getting the attention it deserves.

Three days to bring the original Medium Olive back to life. So interesting how the paint fades and the metallic silver becomes so prominent.

Original owner’s son used a paint brush to slap a grey paint all over the truck, anywhere there was primer or bare metal and over the entire front bumper.

Used grey Scotchbright with Denatured Alcohol, 600 grit 3M wet or dry pad with lots of water followed by CLR with 0000 steel wool and water. Then a coat of wax applied by hand.

No 67-72 trucks came with “K” emblems. Only exception is the “K5 Blazer” emblems and to make it even more confusing the two wheel drive Blazers still had the K emblems.

I like your patina process. I would do it that way. Sometimes spraying clear doesn't look so good...

My favorite.
Off topic, but has anyone Ever seen a K/5 with a Production L25 292?

That’s great to read that you’re still enjoying the K20! I will be done with this one in 3-4 weeks and it will be for sale then

Several years ago in Tucson, I saw a Hugger Orange K/10 Suburban, '69 or '70, and the guy had fuzed a K- from the K/5 badge and a -10 from a C/10 badge. He was friendly but there wasn't time to converse.
I think he also had a door handle and paint line outlines for a faux Door #4.
[Unless it was a real oil field conversion.] Didn't have time for close inspection.
