Re: 69 shop truck

Spent most of today working on the truck.Ripped out old seam sealer in the gutters that was popping up so I can get it in new sealer. Also changed out the thermostat housing. Saw it was leaking a little yesterday while running. Turns out it was a chrome one that someone painted orange and was supposed to have an o ring. Instead of the oring they had a paper gasket and permatex. I have never had good luck with any type of chrome engine parts so I pulled out an original, cleaned it up, painted it and installed it. Noticed the top hose had a nick in it from what appeared to look like the fan blade hit it at some point. Had a correct new one sitting here so went ahead and replaced it. Went in the back room and searched the fan shrouds on the shelf and was able to come up with the correct one so i put that on. I had a used 6 blade clutch fan I was going to put on but after putting it on I found the clutch must have a bad bearing. Took it back off and put the original blade back on for now.

Most women like the strong, silent type… Fortunately for me, my wife prefers the out-of-shape, mouthy type.
