i bought a hobart ironman 240 to replace my 20 year old lincoln 170T because all the 3/16th welding we were doing required blowing a carpet fan on the lincoln to keep it alive. one of the best purchases I have ever made, we have run about 600 lb of wire through it since. I was looking at the comparable miller and noticed it was pretty similar, just didnt have the autoset of the miller, and was about half the price. i gave the miller a fair shake, but the guy said the autoset control board was having a few failures. sold american, give me the hobart any day.

you might check the board on your mvp, a buddy had one that was welding erratically and it just needed the small relay board replaced.
