LS Swap with 3 speed on column
Anybody done this swap yet? Have everything for the swap and will start working on it this month, just wanted to see if there were any major issues that guys were having. Seems pretty straight forward. Thanks for the help in advance.

If that's a Saginaw 3-speed manual, you might want to check the torque capabilities. For my 82 C10, 3 different gear sets were used with these 1st gear ratios:
3.50 for the 250-six 3.11 for the 292 six and 305 2.85 for the 350 Of course, the trans with the 3.50 1st gear can handle significantly less torque than the 2.85. And I'm not even sure a trans with the 2.85 can handle torque from even a stock LS engine. Also, I'm not an LS guy, but there will be some bell housing issues, and I believe the pilot bushing size is different.

Thanks for the info, will look into the torque handling capabilities of it. Not looking to beat on it, just want to retain the 3 speed for old times sake. Will eventually swap to 6 speed.

I think these guys have parts to adapt a 4-speed Muncie to an LS engine, so that means they would work with a Saginaw 3-speed.

The clutch pivot ball was a concern, but I found that at SDPP. I believe a 621 bell will work just fine.

Were you able to complete this? If so, how hard was it and did the transmission hold up? I too like the thought of retaining the old column shift.
