It's been 20 years since I was doing work in Tempe. I did a junkyard tour on several afternoons.
Just checked Googla maps and it appears the salvage yards are still in the same places.

Take 35th ave North from Broadway and there's a couple truck salvage yards east & west of that street.

There's a bunch more North of there in the block bounded by 27th ave, Van Buren, 35th ave, & Buckeye with a couple just east of 27th ave.

True, PHX is a target rich environment. And there are more junkyards on the south side of Tucson, near DMAFB. I'm just thinking an 8-Button Switch from RockAuto is more foolproof than one that's been baking in the desert for 15 or 20 years.

Meanwhile, my A/C has gone belly-up, so Phoenix during the day = the Surface of Mars.

I'll get the air conditioning checked next week. Maybe it only needs a Freon boost, and not a condenser, compressor or lines.

We were working in Tempe just after July 4th week.
Stepping out of the Sky Harbor airport was like walking into a blast furnace.
The cloth seat in the rental car burned my butt through my bluejeans and I couldn't hold onto the steering wheel when I picked it up. I had to leave it running with the AC on for 10 minutes. I can't imagine driving there without AC.
