First, yes I'm aware there's a suspension forum. It doesn't seem to be getting a lot of traffic... so I'm posting here
Anyway, my truck is a 72 c10. Lowered probably close to 19 or 20 years ago with all Early Classic parts. 1" drop coil and 2.5" drop spindle in the front and 6" drop springs, shock relocaters,,super track bar out back.
It's been great... I've driven it everywhere and hauled junk around in it, pulled trailers... no issues...
But, after all the years and miles it's starting to feel a little soft... she leans more in the corners... extra bounce going over dips in the road...
I'm guessing it's time for shocks... but ece has closed its doors
Looking around the web I see people saying stock length shocks work and others saying they won't.
So...
Whatcha think? What are you guys using?
I need my old truck to ride like it used to again!

I’m sure you’ll get lots of answers, just wait. I got tired of the Shock subject on these trucks so I changed to QA1 Coil Over full suspension, a bit of a dramatic change, but I like it a Lot. There are shocks out there that work Great. Hope you find the answer your looking for

Most Shock Absorber Brands have a shock chart on line with all the specs listed to match up a part number for you.

One of many opinions. I installed these Bilsteins in the front of my Burban several years ago replacing a set of Ranchos, still happy with them today after at least 15k miles.

I checked the compressed measurement of the shocks on the interweb and compared it to what the max compression on the truck is, to be sure I would not be bottoming the shock out and damaging it.

There was a bit of modification to them on the top mount for my application see post 892 in link below.

I ran the same ECE mods on my '70 for many years. Used the shocks in this link. A bit stiff when unloaded, but served me well. At the time I was still using it as a truck - hauling motorcycles, plywood etc.

I`m really happy with Belltech Street Performance shocks, purchased thru Summit Racing. Measure/calculate your max compressed and extended lengths. Summit Racing has dimension filters on their site to help select the correct shocks, very helpful.

I called Bell Tech with my 68 with my 4/6 drop. Their advice was spot on shock wise.
