And what I see in my book for the engine code is
V= Flint, Mi
0710 = July 10
FSD= Truck, 1984 350 160hp, 700R4 trans; 1994 truck 350 210hp, manual trans, 1997 G van, 350 255 hp automatic, LPG fuel
aaaand to finish up here, things to take note of:
The Starter's Casing number can really throw a person sideways because That's just what it is a Casing Number. The "Nose" is different on at least (3) starters that are related to That number. The "Nose" is the end that bolts to the engine/transmission that has the little plunger gear in it.

Now, bugging the heck out of the Counter People at AZ and O'Reilly's to bring out all the Starters they had In Stock that related to MJN's block decoder post above Helped A LOT to get the right replacement starter!

and I know, I know, more than likely it wasn't the Starter that gave up the ghost in the first place, it was loose connections but Hey, I got a new rebuilt starter in there now...and coil and cap and rotor....and some new wire.

I kept my core too because with a new solenoid on it, it worked on the tester at AZ....more Garage Art!

Oh, and I got to say, and all of you probably know this; If you have a 1967-1972 Chevy/GMC This IS The BEST Web Sight!
