Do your headers hang low? Can you tie them in a bow?

Mine do.. I've currently got a set of Hedman 69096's installed and they hang way down below the frame rail, I don't like that. I'm looking for input from others that have full length (not shorties, etc) that stay along the frame rails. I am also using the CPP tubular motor mounts, not sure if that make a difference. Auto trans, so no linkage and I have the ECE trans cross-member with exhuast hole cuts outs too. The motor is a small block 327. The truck is a 66 Chevy Shortbed, 4/6 static drop + 2in drop spindles.

I've done a lot of serarching here, but most of the posts are really old and many are from me way back in the day lol. It's looking like the Hedman 69236 (and its non coated variant 69230) are what a few people were using, but one guy said he haid trouble with them but wasnt too specific. Anyway, what are you all running? I'm especially interested in silver cermainc coated versions, thanks a ton!

Probably a good 2.5 - 3 inches.

I'm using Hedman 69230 and running the exhaust in the frame rails. I have a small block 350 with 350 auto.

Update for anyone who reads this in the future. I ended up buying the Hedman 69036 headers, and unfortunately, they didn't fit. My motor is in the forward engine mount holes, and the headers would hit the front crossmember on both sides, with no way to get them to fit. I'm not sure how the person who posted above got theirs to fit unless their motor is in the rear mounts. Anyway, I returned them and got the 69016 shorty headers. I really wanted full length, but gave up on searching. To make the 69016's work, I had to swap my motor mounts. I was using the old-style CPP tubular mounts, which angle up toward th headers. The driver's side cleared, but just barely; the passenger side, however, was a big problem and didnt clear at all. So, I replaced the mounts with the POL mounts, and no more clearance issues. The headers slipped right on into place. I did clock the starter over a notch to get a little more room and clean up the wiring. I'll try to remember to come back someday with pics, or if someone reminds me sooner.

Iused the Hedman 69230s as well. They came out great. you can see the old pipes and how they dropped low before in one of the fotos.
