I've come to this decision because of your arguments and because I do drive this truck very enthusiastically...often. The previous tires are 40 series whereas the new ones are going to be 45 series. This should give a little more padding between road and wheel, ease up on the (tire related) ride stiffness and fill in the fender gap just a tiny bit better. My calculations put the difference at 0.47 inches which means the tire will stretch further away from the center of the hub by less than 1/4 inch. Right now I'm thinking this will not cause any rubbing. EDIT: I calculated that wrong. The total sidewall height increase will be ~1/2 inch all the way around changing tire height by ~1" overall.
