Tail light bracket mounting

Quick question: Is stock type tail light bracket supposed to be angled when bolted into bedside holes? I know the holes in both are offset, but I would think the bracket would be fairly level (horizontal) when bolted up. I have new Mark K bedsides and can't remember how original ones were. Thanks, Jim

Re: Tail light bracket mounting

I borrowed this shot from this sales add for a restored truck https://www.grautogallery.com/vehicl...chevrolet-3100

They sure don't look like they angle much but you need help from the TF experts on this one.

Re: Tail light bracket mounting

Here's what I'm talking about. The holes all match up, both sides, but it just looks like it shouldn't be at an angle. Hard to tell how it would be once lights are mounted, but I don't have them yet.

Re: Tail light bracket mounting

I'm not sure unless the holes are drilled wrong or that is the way it is supposed to be rather than sitting flat.

For a quick check put the correct side tail light on the bracket and see if the bezel screws sit level.

Re: Tail light bracket mounting

just cuz it's new doesn't mean it's right.
you're gonna need the actual lights to figure it out. the assembly manual pic does look like the bracket is angled down to the body mounting end. google

Re: Tail light bracket mounting

Thanks. Yeah, after looking at 12/30.00, it does look as if it angles as well.

Cheers, Jim
