exspansion valve differance?

Hi everyone, I'm replacing my condenser and expansion valve after doing a r134 conversion. Anyways went to Napa auto parts today and bought the one for my truck per their computer. It was PN# 207337, and it has a coiled wire at the end where the one on my truck has the bulb on the end. Luckly I had some other numbers to cross reference for a different valve that I got from this Forum. The other PN# was 207300 and it has the bulb on the end, but their computer says it was for only 67-68. I have a 71. I know so much of the entire 67-72 years is compatible, but I just want to make sure they're not different in term of calibration or anything. Oh BTW theres a major price difference between them too. one was $40 and one was $18 LOL.. I hope to be able to use the cheaper bulb style and I read on here that those seem to perform better anyways. let me know what you guys think.

My 72 has the bulb end. Make sure and wrap it with cork tape. Not insulation tape, but cork tape.

Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna replaced the expansion valve and condenser this weekend .And double check My POA valve is set to 26-27 psi. Nobody has input if the different model valves for the different year trucks are calibrated the same or different? hope that makes sense of what I'm asking. Thanks

Here's some info on poa valves and settings. Original Air says 20 psi for R134 and 30 psi for R12.

Ya, I've read that before. Orginal air says 20 psi but every other reference I've found in this forum and several others pointed to somewhere between 28 to 26 psi. So confusing 😕

"A properly functioning POA valve equipped system with R12 refrigerant will have a low side readings on POA valve of right around 30psi, while systems using 134a refrigerant should read right around 20psi, once calibrated."

This is stating what the pressures should read on the low side not what to set the POA at. They want you send valve in for repair or calibration why give settings out for free?

Gotcha, ok so I have about 26 or 27 when I blow compressed air though it like all the you tube videos show. But will have about 20 when the system is fill with r134 and cycling. 👍
