I have had my 6" lift and 35's on for a few weeks now and starting to realize what crappy gas mileage I get. Now this pickup is no daily driver so it doesn't concern me that much. I haven't figured it out exactly but I think I'm getting around 7-8 MPG. I have a mild 350 with a 600cfm Edelbrock, manual trans and 3.73 (about 2500 RPM at 65MPH). Does the 35x12.5 have more to do with then the lift?

I have 4" lift on the Jimmy with 35's and 4.10s. With a Jet Q-jet and little cam (210@.050) in the 331, it gets 14 mpg. It is also a manual trans.

I'm thinking (no way of really knowing) about 12 mpg with 35's and 4.10's.

I figure with running in overdrive with 38's and 4.10's maybe 6-7..

With 4.10s and 35s around 10. The 71 w/ 4.56s and 35s not sure.

i have 33's with 4.56 and that comes out to about 10 or less

As crazy as it sounds, A lower gear ratio will probably help. If you go to a 4.10 or even 4.56 your in-town milage will likely go up. This is because you don't have to press the throttle pedal as far to get up to speed. The higher gears may be better on the highway.......it depends upon where you do your driving most.

upgrade the gears to something lower (4.56+) and i bet your milage increases, as well as helps your trans survive. RPMs are just too low for it to operate reliably.

70 Chevy 4x4 with an almost new ZZ4 350, 4inch lift and 33s, I get a whopping 9MPG (on the friggin freeway!), and 8.6 MPG towing my boat.

That really sucks when you pay CA prices for gas and ya can't use regular!

My '69 has 35's & 4.10's with a mild built engine. Gets around 6-8.
The '72 has stock tires and 3.07's with a bone stock engine and it gets around 12-14. A/C greatly reduces that number!

I have not lifted my 88 Suburban yet but with 31's and unknown gear ratio (have not had a chance to check yet) 6.2 diesel with the 700r4 I average 18 mpg at 75 mph towing my jeep or not towing my jeep - I am looking at lifting it around 5 - 6 inches and going with 33 wild country tires - at that time I will check the gearing and modify as needed.

now my 87 Cherokee 4.0 5 speed with 6.5 inch lift, 4.10's, 32 BFG's gets about 12 - 13 city and up to 22 highway (overall avg hwy is 20 mpg) at 80 mph - but I have bored the Thottle body, yanked out the breather box and fab'ed a cold 9 in x 5 in round air cone filter breather, hood vents (has lowered the temp 10 degrees at highway speeds), flowmaster 44 with 3 inch pipe plus a few other odds and ends to help performance.

my NON lifted T-Bird

gets about 10 city and 14 hwy completely stock except for a 1406 edlebrock carb (300 hp 390 from the factory)

I get about 12 in my 85 K10 with 4" lift and 33x12.5" tires, thats with a 350 with bolt-ons and a Q-Jet that doesn't run right part-throttle.

All stock never rebuilt 350/205 w/ 32x11.5s and 3.07 gears gets me 11mpg hwy.

My old 92 GMC had a 351 TBI with KN round top with a cyclone top, Hypertech chip, Throttle Body Spacer, and true dual exhaust, turbo 350 3.42 gears and 35s got 8 mpg no matter if I was on the highway in the city driving like a grandma or Jeff Gordan.

My new 85 with a mild 350 with a holly 650, sm465 direct drive, 4.10s and 38.5 Boggers get 8 on the highway and around 6-7 in the city, but then again I race stop light to stop light. I just love the yuppies in the drop tops coughing on my 3 inch dumps as the light turns green
