You could make a cardboard pattern and hang it in place with magnets or duct tape. Come up with what looks good whether it is 1, 2 or 3 pieces. Then fab it up out of 16 or 18ga cold rolled sheet. Make it a little big so you can finish the edges if you like.

Use some 18 gauge metal and make an apron. If I remember, there are several bolts located under the grill you can use to attach it with.


Also, I liked your steering wheel center idea so much, I put it on mine. Thanks

I was asked about frame pictures and wheel spacing.
I really regret to say the best photo shot of the frame was posted
The wheels are just 15" American racing wheels. I went to a local wheel shop with measurements from mounting surface to fender lip and he ordered based on that. I really don't have record of the wheel specifications. It was dumb of me not to document more of what I did, however the dakota chassis does not garner much interest.
