You can see it flare up here...https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/goe...ength=84&dim=1 just before sunset. You will have to set the loop time back a ways.
We are completely smoked in with fires to the west of us and it looks like there is one up in the Yakima area.
Private C130 tankers fly out of Redmond every 30 min to a large fire out in east in OR.
It is pretty impressive when they takeoff west, bank hard and head east, full power, fully loaded and climbing slow.
Their first run of the day, 3 will leave at once.
