Lil’ Mint - 1967 40k mile Survivor

Not quite a build or a project… but more of a place to post pictures of this truck. “Lil’ Mint” is the name my daughter picked.

40.5k original miles. Bare bones / plain jane, i-6 250, 4-spd manual, doesn’t even have armrests or a second sunvisor haha. Original interior, original paint on about 85% of the truck (very hard to tell the difference).

Took these today out getting donuts for the kids and their friends that slept over.

A little dusty, almost time for a wash.

Thumbs up Re: Lil’ Mint - 1967 40k mile Survivor

It's kinda basic, but it does have side mounted spare, rear sport bumper, and power brakes!

I love it. It's amazing the amount of small items/details that are 1967 only.

I love that truck. I wish I could find something like that, but it's probably best I can't, I'd be tempted to mess with it and it really shouldn't be tinkered with.

The spare tire mount is original. The rear sport bumper and PB are not. Definitely basic! One sunvisor, no radio, no cigar ligher, no arm rests... I'll pos the SPID.

It's hard not to wonder what it would be like to shorten it and drop in a v-8 and auto trans. I would never do it. But I wouldn't blame someone if they did.

Wow. Congrats! That's incredible. What I don't understand is how has nothing aged on it? Even the spid sheet hasn't yellowed with age. Was it kept in a climate controlled garage it's whole life?

Those little Plain Janer's are treasures of the past. You bought/ordered them back then by going down the list and checking the boxes of what you wanted. Now, and has been for a long time, everything comes in "Packages" that includes the option you actually want.

A really clean time piece from yesteryear for sure.

Re: Lil’ Mint - 1967 40k mile Survivor

Uhhh, it came with a heavy duty battery!!!

The engine looks like it was removed, resealed, painted, re-installed, very well done!!!

The dealer that had this, must not be the average ordinary used car dealer!!!

Glad you were able to acquire this!!!

I agree with your assessment. It's clearly been indoors most of its life.

Being a "plain jane" in addition to being so well preserved, was another selling point for me. Something I love about it.

Well I normally focus on old field finds that I can snag from private sellers. This one was on consignment in the bay area, owned by a car collector. It was sitting between a bunch of high end vettes and hot rods, kind of a sorry red-headed step child situation. I had to rescue it haha

The engine bay, wheels/tires/caps, and bumpers were all tastefully done by the PO to be year correct which I really appreciate.
