My .02 cents...
Motor looks good and it should be a 350. $1,500 isn't chump change but not crazy espensive for a used 350 motor. I'd run it as is or find a way to run it before installing to check compression and listen for any unusaul noises. I think you got a decent deal and only time will tell if it was worth it. Good luck!
