Saw my 1st Tesla PU in the Wild today

I was at our Bi-Weekly Down Town car show tonight and Saw this. The Guy representing it said help yourself, check it out. Couldn’t bring myself to set in it.
Very PLAIN inside. He then knocked on the panel and said “It’s Bulletproof “
I said “ I don’t t know anybody that would Shoot at me” LOL
Long story Short NO THANK YOU

I’ve seen several of them around. They look like a rolling solar panel. No thanks.

Re: Saw my 1st Tesla PU in the Wild today

When we were in California in May we saw a whole bunch of those "trucks" One guy was pulling over at scenic spots on the coast taking pictures of it. We saw him several times, trying to find the best area for a shot I guess.

As far as them being bullet proof it kind of wigs me out. For some reason in my old age Ive become super claustrophobic. If I was in one of those things and I was in an accident where the door was jammed shut or maybe I drove in to a lake (lol) the window would be impossible to bust out. *shivers*

Re: Saw my 1st Tesla PU in the Wild today

Bulletproof? First I've heard of that.
For some reason that makes me think of an old Jerry Clower story where a couple of country boys were out hunting when the first car they ever saw came down the road in a big cloud of dust and making noise. Scared them and one of them aimed and shot at it hitting the radiator causing steam and water to spew out of it. The truck wobbled a bit then pulled off the road. The driver jumped out and ran away. One of the boys asked what is that thing. The other said I don't know but I made it turn that man loose!

Re: Saw my 1st Tesla PU in the Wild today

Also seen my very first Tesla PU while in NW Alabama this past week. Wife and I were visiting our son and his wife and our new Grand Daughter. The G'daughter was a real cutie, as was expected.

Can't say the same for that Fugly pile of .......! Looks like it was designed and drawn by a 7 year old for a cartoon show. Can't see that being much use as an actual pickup. It was painted flat black with blacked out wheels. Going for the Darth Vader look maybe? Don't think I could sleep at night knowing it was parked in my garage. Definitely NOT for me, nope, uh, uh, no way!

We have 4 or 5 running around here. I know of 2 wrapped black ones, 1 lime green, and 1 or 2 that haven't been wrapped yet.

Re: Saw my 1st Tesla PU in the Wild today

I finally saw one around here. Not my thing. Looks like something from a 70's era post apocalypse sci-fi movie.

But their money, their choice. Power to them.

Re: Saw my 1st Tesla PU in the Wild today

There are a lot of Tesla fans around here. The trucks are as ugly as sin. I'll keep driving my beautiful Blazer until they pump the last drop of oil out of the ground. Of course, when that happens the power grid will shut down, and the Teslas will stop running too.

They are all over the place.
A few used ones for sale at dealerships around me too.
Like all Tesla products, yawn.

If I got $125,000 burning a hole in my pocket I'm not going to spend it on something I would be ashamed to be seen in.

I read that too . But I believe it was that the idiot owner left food in the bed while camping . Seen raccoons and bears get into soft covers on trucks before I once saw a convert top ripped to shreds because there was food in the car
