Engine color suggestions

The goal for my C10 is to drive good, look good, and sound good. I'm having a hard time deciding what color I should paint my engine.

Here's my truck below. I picked up a 350 with Edelbrock's Pro-Flo 4 injection recently. I intend to run Holley's midmount accessory system in black. I'm hoping to pull off an OEM+ type look. I would like to clean up the firewall getting rid of excess seam sealer etc and repaint it in the factory gold without clear. I might do the same for the inner fenders but leave the Slosh tubz satin black. I'll hide wiring and hoses, too.

I don't want black or hugger orange for the engine. Too common for me. I was thinking I would back date it with corporate blue using the older Chevrolet script valve covers with the script in black. However, I'm having a hard time finding examples to look at to see if I would like it. I'm concerned how it would look against the gold, too. I'm open to other colors entirely. Buick red maybe?

Thoughts or suggestions welcome.

Re: Engine color suggestions

Eastwood has some Interesting colors.

You could use there selection to maybe pick your color.

Since you're wanting something different , What about Battleship Gray?

Re: Engine color suggestions

Thank you, both. I'll be sure to check out the eastwood selections in full. I didn't think to just scroll through colors. That's a good idea.

Re: Engine color suggestions

I paint everything Chevy Orange whether it's a Chevy or not. I did paint an Olds gold rocket bright gold like that pic in my black Cadillac Seville. That really popped when I opened the hood

Re: Engine color suggestions

I agree with the above: definitely gold. Olds Gold would look great with your exterior color combo.

Re: Engine color suggestions

I would probably just match the factory gold if I was to choose a gold color.

Re: Engine color suggestions

Thanks. Putting them side by side really helps see the differences in the shading.

Since we are settled on gold, my thoughts on Blue: It is a Ford and Mopar engine color. Its also the color of generic reman engines (at least it was in the 80's and early 90's).

Re: Engine color suggestions

I'm not settled on gold though that Seymour shade looks nice. I still think I want a contrasting color. What set me down this path was seeing UBT's Mississippi Mud build. He did his engine in Phoenix Yellow I think it was. Regardless, that engine stands out against the light blue bay. I thought that was a pretty good idea.

I appreciate the responses and welcome more if anyone cares to offer one.

Thanks!

Re: Engine color suggestions

The firewall is the body gold and will remain that way but I intend to leave it without clear. Inner fenders I and leaning towards the same. Slosh tubz I believe I will leave a satin black. I'm leaning towards keeping a factory style air cleaner instead of an aftermarket piece. If I go after market, it won't be shiny.

Black dissipates heat faster than any color. If that's a concern

And it also hides small Oil (Seeps) leaks for a little while.

Re: Engine color suggestions

I've never heard about the heat dissipation of black paint. Not a concern for me though. Now, the oil hiding properties I am well aware of, lol.

I think I may try to keep with the earth tones the truck has and go with a flat red along the lines of Georgia red clay or terracotta. Not a true red but more of an orange brown red maybe. I've also thought about champagne like GM used on everything for years. I have plenty of time to decide. I doubt any of this will happen this year.

Thanks

The gold in the grill is the color of your engine, too?

That's a nice looking front end!
