Trucks at the 2024 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

I made it up to the Yakima fairgrounds this morning for the 50th running of the Vintiques Northwest Nationals car show.

Here are the Chevy and GMC trucks I found although I probably missed a bunch of them as the heat and my knees and feet hurting caused met to miss hunting them all down .

Starting out with this super clean 58/59.

48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six.
71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: Trucks at the 2024 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

Rob: Great shots of some nice trucks. There were many other AD & TF trucks in attendance. I had the great opportunity to work both registration & the poker run so I had a front row seat to see most of the cars.
Already looking forward to next year.

Re: Trucks at the 2024 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

Out in the camping area and swap meet area but nothing for trucks in the swap meet this time. Most of these folks have camped in the same spots for years if not decades.

That Chevy fire truck is usually the party wagon on some carrying on after the show closes on Saturday nigh and the spectators leave and just the party crowd is hanging out on the grounds.

Back behind the poultry barn I found this TF 4x4 that is nice. Then I spotted the red and black GMC.

Re: Trucks at the 2024 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

I didn't check the sticker for the year but assume 54 and man oh man what a nice truck. Nothing off the wall, no gee gaas or fru fru that these trucks just don't need but ever thing done right even the two tone paint pattern that normally turns me off but this is one of the best paint jobs I have seen in a long time..

I'm going to overload you with photos but don't think anyone will mind.

Re: Trucks at the 2024 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

Looking at another photo the 54 GMC is from Kelowna BC but I won't show the sticker as I don't like to show owners names unless the vehicle is very well known or I am showing a show board or a person I know is a member here.

Re: Trucks at the 2024 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

How about a GMC burb. I saw this one at he stop light In Toppenish. The event registration slip said that it was from back east and it is nice.

I didn't get a shot of the bottom side of the hood but the finished paint on it was every bit as nice as the paint on the outside of the truck.

Re: Trucks at the 2024 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

A nice TF that I have seen a number of times then I kept hearing something that sounded like motorcycles doing burn outs. Back in the corner past the milk parlor they had the outlaw lawnmower drag races going on. radically modified riding mowers with 4 cylinder Bike motors in them. Either 500 or 750 Honda in most. Wild and they are quick and fast.

Back to trucks a nice resale red AD.

Re: Trucks at the 2024 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

Rob: the red & black AD is a 54. And it is as nice as you describe. I was asked to be a judge and this was my pick for 46 - 55's.

Re: Trucks at the 2024 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

The Red truck was very well detailed and I liked the gas filler door on the fender that looked like it belonged there.

Re: Trucks at the 2024 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

Boy howdy I could have used that bar stool today. I wonder if they would get their undies in a knot i I showed up with an old fart scooter with the seat converted to a bar stool .

Found this black 4 eye TF hiding in the camping area and across the street was this purple AD in it's usual hangout spot.

Re: Trucks at the 2024 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

The green truck was built close to 20 years ago and is still one of the nicest trucks in the area even though it gets driven a lot. It is probably my camera's favorite truck as I have taken around 100 photos of it over the years.

The paint was done in a friend's shop and at the time was the most expensive paint job that shop had ever turned out but that 10k investment has paid off.
I'm pretty sure that another friend set up the FI setup and probably still maintains it.
The red square truck was nice too.

Re: Trucks at the 2024 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

Oops here is the red truck.

The Green truck was new to me and was blown to boot,

OT but the blue 32 Ford four door Highboy with the Thunderbird Special Y block was hands down my favorite in the show.

Re: Trucks at the 2024 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

This 54 makes me wish I had gone out to the street rod drags last night. (Friday 08/03/2024) at Renegade Raceway.

Nice stepside with a hood scoop.

Re: Trucks at the 2024 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

About the time I took the shot of the 57 my knees said that "dude, we are done find us a ride to the truck" The excessive heat, smoke and tired knees had done the deed. No walking over to the hot dog stand with interesting hot dog combos and then to the adult beverage garden next door. Through the sundome with a look around and then make my way way out past all the trailers that made me think that I was at a good guys event rather than Vintiques and fight with the clutch in the truck and go get something cold to drink.

Re: Trucks at the 2024 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

Inside the sundome and cooled off a tad I checked out Adrenaline Fabrication out of Ellensberg WA Nice mods on original chassis.

That was the end of Chevy/GMC truck stuff. I missed a few and maybe Nvrdone will pick up the slack and post them as he is now a member of the host club and a rookie at putting on that show.
