Got rid of the fake patina
Posted the work i had done on my tailgate a while back. I had initially asked my painter to put a little fake patina on the top 1/3 of the tailgate that was worked on and spotted in (rest of the truck is og paint).
Well, it just kept bugging me. Someone on here said it well, “why put patina on an original paint truck that has no patina?” Sent her back and had it reshot, only on that top 1/3. Much better! |

Re: Got rid of the fake patina
SOOOO much better. IMHO it doesn't get much better than this truck. Mostly OG paint, great color, factory pinstripe, stamped dealership rear bumper, original seat cover (that original custom cloth is just too cool). Kudos on a job very well done.

Re: Got rid of the fake patina
Great choice. I’m a big fan of natural patina, but that is sure perty!

Re: Got rid of the fake patina
Truck looks sharp!
I am also digging the paint stripe and the stamped dealership bumper. I remember that you had a good sized dent pulled out of the top of the tail gate. I don't know, I could see the fake patina on a non-patinaed (spelling?) tailgate. Tailgates often saw a bunch of use and thus would get some unusual wear and tear over the years.

Re: Got rid of the fake patina
Nice truck. Before image, with artificial patina?
