Re: 1976 green c10 custom deluxe

So I have made a lot of progress on the truck over the last couple weeks.
My emergency/parking brake pedal wasn't locking down anymore so I pulled one at a salvage yard no rubber pedal pad but I can get one later at least I have a parking brake now lol. The first yard I called was like, no we don't have any Chevys that old out there... So I'm like ok this is the last time I try that place (wasn't the first time that place was no help to me) So on a whim I decided to try my old favorite salvage yard that had closed down a while back, to my surprise they picked up and said they should have one and I could come out. After borrowing a grinder to cut off a stubborn bolt and some $15 later I had a good parking brake pedal assembly lol.

Re: 1976 green c10 custom deluxe

I had a rear brake line that was rusty and badly pitted so I opted to replace it.
It wasn't leaking and I really didn't want to mess with it but decided I was better off safe than sorry. So glad I did once I got it removed and moved it around a bit I noticed what looked like brake fluid seeping out from the pitted spot so yeah it was only a matter of time and it would have blown out.

Re: 1976 green c10 custom deluxe

So over the weekend the truck went out on its first drive in many many years...
Decided to keep the drive short and didn't go in to my main town but stoped at the small town much closer to home and filled up with gas and headed home.
The drive went well without any break downs which was nice!
Only real issue is my speedometer isn't working correctly which is a bit disappointing but I suppose I will get it sorted eventually.
I decided the exhaust was a bit too loud straight piped so yesterday I installed a glass pack to tone it down a bit but still make enough noise for me lol

Good to see a "working truck" build.
