LOF windshield and the C10 Gremlins

My 52 year old or factory replaced windshield was attacked by the c10 Gremlins last night. I removed my windshield in January. It has sat in the same position on a stack of tires since. This past month I have on and off worked the gasket and trim. There is another tread on that subject. The trim and gasket have been in place for a week. This morning I come out to see a crack. The windshield has not been touched since trim install last week. I blame on Gremlins but reality is obviously my fault. The only thing I can think of is that I must of put a chip on the edge of the glass while fighting with the crappy aftermarket trim. Present heat wave must of been enough to run a crack. What a shame to loose a LOF windshield.

Them Gremlins will getcha if ya don't watch out.
They've been having all kinds of fun hiding my tools when I get back to a project...

I'm just guessing I'm not really sure just a crazy thought. Maybe the tire pressure changed with the temperature causing some stress to
the windshield, like just enough inflate
then deflate to cause a slight squeeze and or expansion. What I'm thinking the weight of the windshield on the tire had a good grip. Just a crazy thought. I'd give this message caution, It is coming from out of my brain 😬
