Right, but 60-87 half-ton trucks are typically referred to as C10. For example, I've never heard of an R10 club, show, or forum. So, I think we can forgive Mr. Carlson.
Google "C10" to see what you find, and then "R10". As for electronics, I'm sure he meant things like On-Star and wireless communications.
