Grey Scotchbright to just scuff the sheen / outer layer of the black paint. Then use Acetone to aggressively remove the black paint. Once you are almost all the way through the black paint stop and switch to denatured alcohol to slow the removal process. This way you don’t remove the paint underneath that you are trying to preserve.
