Re: Fuel tank recommendations for holly sniper II
Sorry for the late response.
I just installed my Sniper kit with the supplied external pump mounted to the rails and the original tank behind the seat. They recommend 3/8" line from tank to Sniper, I found a 3/8' pick up from Tanks Inc (https://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/p...rod/prd712.htm). The tank was from LMC and they have a return port option in the top passenger side corner. I ordered some 3/8" line and a tube bender and fabricated some solid lines then matched it in with some Earls 3/8" Vapor Guard hose from the kit also. It works, guess I'll see how long for but I am happy with the result so far. |

Re: Fuel tank recommendations for holly sniper II
The engine bay, CD module and coil are on the left inner fender. Hyperspark distributor also. Sniper mounted on an Offy 4 barrel with an adapter. I drilled out the adapter plate mounting holes so I could turn it 90 degrees and put the linkage on a straight pull. Used the original throttle linkage, just trimmed it up a little for aesthetics. You can see the fuel line and pressure gauge in the back. I used 3/8" Vapor Guard hose from the pump on the rail to the Sniper. Supply and return lines, inline filter on the supply. I used 3/8" tubing to go from the tank, through the floor and to the rails and also on the return. This bought me a little more room than trying to stuff 2 runs of the Vapor Guard hose through the floor - without cutting the floor up, or having the hose rub. Once the tube gets to the rail I used the hose to the pump, from the pump to the Sniper and the return line also. Supply line from the 3/8" tank pick-up running through the floor. The return line on the left also, I switched to the Vapor Guard hose just for ease of install. This was my first attempt at forming these steel lines and didn't want to mess around too much. As it was, I finished all of this and my neighbour came over asking how it went. Then asked if I used a coat hanger to get the length and angles. I felt stupid right about then. I had read about it, but in my haste forgot everything about that part. |
